1. Access sign in

   • At the top right of the screen, click the sign-in icon shown as an empty avatar.
   • This icon opens the account creation and sign-in options.

2. Choose a sign-in method

   • Two methods let you create an account:
     • Google account
     • Email address and password
   • You can also continue as a guest to discover the game without creating an account (see the dedicated question).

3. Sign in via email

   • If you choose the email option, enter your email address and create a password.
   • A confirmation email is sent to you, so remember to check your spam folder.
   • Once confirmed, your account is activated.

4. Quick sign in with Google (recommended)

   • Signing in with Google is the easiest way: with a single click, your account is created and you are authenticated right away.
   • This method is fast, secure, and requires no password to remember.

Whatever method you choose, your account is protected and used only to improve your gaming experience. You can then start investigating with complete peace of mind.

If you created your account with an email address and a password and you no longer remember it, here is how to reset it.

1. Access the sign-in screen

   • When signing in, enter your email address and your password.
   • If the information is incorrect, a "Forgot password" link appears.

2. Request a reset

   • Click "Forgot password".
   • A reset email is sent to the address linked to your account.

3. Change your password

   • Open the email you received and follow the steps provided.
   • Choose a new secure password.
   • Once the change is complete, you can sign in again normally.

4. Check your spam folder

   • If you do not receive the email, remember to look in your spam or junk folder.
   • The email can sometimes end up there depending on your mail settings.

Within a few minutes, access to your account is restored and you can pick up your investigation right where you left off.

By playing the different types of investigations, your character progresses and gains reputation.

1. Earn experience and rewards

   • As you play, you collect:
     • XP (experience) points,
     • virtual currency,
     • and, for outdoor games, a step count.
   • These three elements are visible on your profile screen.

2. Track your progress

   • Your profile shows your XP, your currency, and the distance you have walked.
   • The more you play and take on challenges, the more your reputation as an inspector grows.

3. Global leaderboard

   • A global leaderboard is available from the profile screen and from the Leaderboard page.
   • Your rank appears next to your username, for example: #12300.
   • It shows where you stand compared to all the other players.

4. Compare and progress

   • The goal is to progress and improve your position on the leaderboard.
   • The more you play, the more your reputation grows and the more formidable an inspector you become.

In Jack & Mani, every investigation brings you a little closer to the top.

Badges reward your engagement and your progress in the game. You will find your collection on the Rewards page, where each badge already earned appears in color and the others remain grayed out.

1. Play regularly

   • By coming back to play often, you unlock badges tied to your consistency.
   • The more consistent you are, the more rewarding the rewards.

2. Solve investigations

   • Every investigation solved counts.
   • By solving one case after another, you earn badges that highlight your investigator talent.

3. Play outdoors

   • Outdoor games take you across many kilometers.
   • By walking and exploring, you unlock badges tied to the distance walked and to exploration.

4. Track your collection

   • Each badge tells part of your journey.
   • The more you play and explore, the more your badge collection grows.

Badges are there to showcase your play style and your progress in Jack & Mani.

The My friends feature is being prepared and is not yet available in the game.

It appears in your profile with the label "Coming soon". So you cannot add friends yet or compare yourself directly with them for the time being.

As soon as this feature is ready, you will be able to find your friends from your profile and track your progress together.

In the meantime, you can see where you stand compared to other players thanks to the global leaderboard, available from your profile and the Leaderboard page.

It is possible to play Jack & Mani without creating a personal account, particularly for privacy reasons or in a school context.

1. Anonymous mode

   • For schools or supervised groups, using a personal email address is not always allowed.
   • So the game offers an anonymous mode, with no email or personal information.

2. What this mode allows

   • access to the free indoor investigations,
   • playing without creating a standard account,
   • respecting student privacy.

3. No personal data is required

   • No email address or personal information is requested.
   • In anonymous mode, your progress is saved locally on the device used.

4. The limits of anonymous mode

   • Outdoor investigations (location-based) require an account (free) to track your progress in the field.
   • To keep your progress and find it again on another device, create a standard account at any time.
